Glacier_g_rt
On my 1986 K100RS the engine heat upon the driver is enough to require installation of air wings to bring additional cooler air to displace this heat. Can't imagine that this same condition exists on a '03 or '04 RS/GT to the same extent, but it must be somewhat hotter than any of the R models. Can someone tell me how BMW is dealing with this issue on the RS/GT models and how effective it is ? Thanks in advance. Link to comment
Knobby10
Never been a problem on my 03 KRS!! Link to comment
Bobmws
MY'04RS has much better heat/air management than my K100RS. I always wear Darien Pants, and didn't have any motor heat related discomfort crossing the southwest this past spring. It was hot though......... Link to comment
Limecreek
My '04KGT was never a problem even in 100 degree Texas temperatures. Sometimes I could tell there was some heat coming from the motor while standing at a traffic light on a gusty day. Link to comment

Laney
The only time I ever noticed engine heat was while wearing mesh overpants with shorts underneath. Long pants with mesh are plenty enough to insulate me from what engine heat exists. Link to comment
