russg
I'm not poking fun at anyone, just curious. I am usually so excited the day I get a new toy that I spend all my time with it. To continue my time with it after the wife tells me it is bed time, I sit in bed and read the manual cover to cover. Just me? Link to comment
BereIsland
I've got a bad habit of not reading the manual, I call it MFI wardrobe syndrome Steve Link to comment
David
What is this "manual" of which you speak? Link to comment

Krwzn
Ok, hows this for a stereotype, I am a girl, and I read it! LOL Lynne Link to comment
jackflash
It's a pretty weak owner's manual. Link to comment
CTRBLNCD1
I thought it was pretty good. what do you think it lacks or doesn't do well? Link to comment
sprung
Did anyone else find typos? The one I picked up on is actually pretty funny... see page 136, mine says: "Engine design longitudinally mounted twelve-cyclinder, four-cycle opposed twin engine with one overhead cam each, air cooling, oil-cooled exhaust system and electronic fuel injection" Mine came with the opposed-twin, but the inline 12 sure sounds like fun, hehe. Beside that, I find the "oil-cooled exhast system" statement interesting. Does the oil actually cool the exhaust system? Am I missing something or does that sound very odd? Link to comment
George
Beside that, I find the "oil-cooled exhast system" statement interesting. Does the oil actually cool the exhaust system? Am I missing something or does that sound very odd? ... the oil is circulated around the head and near the exhaust valve area, to take away the heat into the oil and to be cooled via the oil cooler.... That is why since 1994, when the new R11XX series were launched, they are known as OILHEADS Link to comment
graemer57
When I was first introduced to computers by the company I then worked for, the IT Department set up a helpline for new users, but said they would only help if we met them half way by following the RTFM principle before we rang them with our question. RTFM?? Read The F***ing Manual! Isn't a bad principle and have certainly seen questions asked here that have probably taken longer to write and submit than it would have taken the enquirer to RTFM :-) Link to comment
Albert
I read it, yes, but the ending was so . . . alphabetical. I'm going back to the mystery novels. Link to comment
DARKSTAR
I read it and I STILL have to go back to it frequently for answers! Link to comment
jdos2
I read it, and continue to do so when faced with the occasional question. Sadly, it's less informative than any I've ever had. Unless I need warnings. That it has. That it has in SPADES. Link to comment
pbbeck
RTFM?? Read The F***ing Manual I thought RTFM stood for Read the Furnished Material. I like yours better! Link to comment
sprung
... the oil is circulated around the head and near the exhaust valve area, to take away the heat into the oil and to be cooled via the oil cooler.... That is why since 1994, when the new R11XX series were launched, they are known as OILHEADS Thanks, that makes complete sense and is pretty much what I expected. I would have said it differently in the manual though, like "oil-cooled cylinder head"... maybe the translators got it wrong, hehe. Link to comment
