bmwin14rsm
I have a towing unit which holds the front wheel to my Suburban and drags the rear wheel. I know in some cars, you can not tow with the drive wheel in neutral due to lubrication issues. Does anyone know if this will harm the transmition or will it be ok? Link to comment
Hedge36
The possiblities for mayhem abound. You wouldn't catch me doing it, especially when full single-rail trailers are so doggone cheap. Link to comment
ShovelStrokeEd
Biggest danger you will face is starvation of the front transmission bearings that support the shafts. Probably OK for 50 miles or so to bring it to a dealer. I would certainly not use this mode for a long trip. Better to rent a U-haul and put the bike inside or, if it is more frequent thing, get a proper trailer. Link to comment
duckbubbles
I would never do that to any bike I care about! Frank Link to comment
black99S
Put the rear wheel in the doohickey and trail the front. Tow truck drivers do it all the time. Link to comment
ben1364
For the price of about three or 4 tires (mounted) one can purchase a trailer and be done with it; not to mention that the bike will fare much better on a trailer. I don't like the thought of towing a motorcycle with either wheel on the ground! Link to comment
