Neutral Switch Replacement

Recommended Posts

I'm going to replace my clutch this Fall. I also want to replace my neutral switch that works part of the time. Besides the neutral switch itself, are there any other seals or gaskets that I need to do this job? It looks like once the gearbox is separated from the engine that the switch is easily assessable....True? Thanks

Yes, there is a seal within the switch that I was destroyed removing it from the old switch. And I seem to recall that there is an O ring on the outside of the switch body too.

Wrong end of the tranny, the neutral switch is at the south end, between the rear of the tranny and the swingarm. No need to pull the transmission, just the swingarm.

And yes, I did notice that in your case you are replacing the clutch and will have the tranny out anyway. But someone new might have been confused.
