I had to pop out to my local friendly motorcycle dealer to get my friends Moto Guzzi MOT'd, the UK equivalent of inspected. As the dealer is an Italian specialist, being the UK's last Moto Morini dealer as well as dealing in Bimota and many other obscure maques.

I took a few pictures for your perusal.

This is a Borile B500 500cc cafe racer based on a GM speedway engine. They are hand made with alloy frames and fittings and weigh less than most 125s. Only 50 a year are made for wordwide consumption. UK price is 10,300 pounds. This is the ex-factory demo bike priced at just under 9000 pounds.

Then, outside the workshop I saw this 1956 Fratelli Ferrari 125:

The rear suspension is in the tubes at the base of the seat, with the lever pulling on a rod trough the springs. Damping is acomplished by the friction discs between the swingarm and frame.

Front suspension is by upside-downers.....

Back to the shop to pay the bill. Outside a modern Moto Morini 1200 Corsaro - yours for 8700 pounds.

Excellent!! I love those Andy....nice work.

Are you sure the Bimota Tesi is under 28,000 lbs..? I see it has the same style exhaust system as a Buell...

I took some bike shots in New Zealand two years ago at the vintage races, I should get around to posting them one of these days.

Beautiful bikes and pictures. The Ferrari brothers' bike seat looks like a leather-covered 2x4. blush.gif
Yeah, that's what I thought! grin.gif

I went to the International Motorcycle show in Denver a couple of years ago and enjoyed the display of old racers. What struck me most was that they were very small displacement, mostly 125s and 250s, and they were TINY. Today we seem to need 1200cc's or bigger just to haul our fat butts around! Some bikes are upwards of 2000cc's, bigger than some car motors. confused.gif

Good job, Andy! Brought back memories of my formative days of drooling over bike magazines as a kid.

Really enjoyed looking at the pics.

I have to admit that I had take a second glace at the Bimota Tesi to figure out which end was which? grin.gif

Oh, those Italians! Be still my heart!

Thanks for sharing those pics, I especially like the Borile B500.

The Ferrari seat brought to my mind a trombone case.
