pbbeck
Saw this one at Max's BMW in New Hampshire. It's obviously in a state of preparation. It had a NH plate, but there was no indication of which local department it belongs to. Link to comment
russg
I really want a set of those side cases. Guess the next time I'm in to the dealer I'll ask if I can order them and what the bill might be. --russ Link to comment

Oh, and they're a bolt-on, no quickie removal. Link to comment
ben1364
Wonder what those crash bars sell for or if any aftermarket suppliers will make something similar available? Link to comment

Bob's BMW has one on display, and the side cases are permanently bolted to a metal frame. Link to comment
ATLSilverRT
The old RTP's (1150's) used to have a fan behind the Oil cooler, I wonder if the new ones still have those. I have been thinking about trading my LT on an 1200RT and was wondering, I actually installed the fan from a RTP on my old R1150Rt and I thought it made a difference when in bumper to bumper traffic to have the fan on. I mounted a switch so I could turn it on and off. Link to comment
YesMan
I haven't been in heavy traffic in high heat yet, but I have sat in it during low 90's. My temperature guage doesn't even move from its normal position (just a hair over half). Much different behavior than the FJR. Link to comment
ADulay
Same here. Haven't seen the temp thing go above about 2.5, even after getting stuck in a huge I-75 traffic jam in 90 degree weather down here in Florida. Maybe the indicator is broken? AD Link to comment

Maybe the indicator is broken? Not to wander too OT, but I can give you my experience this weekend. I think I picked the wrong week to ride down to Vegas. So, Saturday, it was 113° here (Vegas) - give or take. I know my way around, but I don't know all the short cuts. So, I had to go get some tickets from a box office, and I took the wrong exit. I figured since it was only one exit early, traffic on the strip wouldn't be too bad. It was actually two exits early, and traffic was normal (aka REALLY bad). So, sitting there on my r12st in stop and go (up to 10mph) traffic in 113° weather for 20 minutes, my temp gauge rose to about 3/4 (assuming "normal" is 1/2). I was actually a little worried for a minute there, as it was above normal when I left the casino because the engine was still at 3/4, but within 1 mile on the freeway it was back down to normal. My body temp however, is a different story altogether... Link to comment
