We spent a great weekend with friends from Indy at CasaB. We rode for a couple days

then, our friends joined us on Saturday. We gave them a tour of the best riding and attractions

in the area.

LJR stopped in on Sunday after a major repair to his RT. We made plans to meet him at TWO for dinner

on Monday. It was a kick. The weather was perfect, the dinner entrees were superb and there were

only a couple dozen people having dinner. We polished off a big bottle of vino.

Our friends don't ride but fell in love with TWO. Just as a side note, we visited TWO

several times during the weekend and were surprised to find so few campers and visitors,

though Larry said the Sunday lunch crowd was big.

Ruth with our friends, Brenda and Jim Hillman

We visited the John Campbell Folk School at Brasstown, NC.

It's only 15 minutes from CasaB, on the shortcut from 19 to old 64. It would provide

a very nice respite during a day's ride. Here, Jim inspects an old sawmill.

He has a portable and cuts timber as a hobby and for pay now that he's retired.

He's got about 200k board feet of hardwood timber in his drying shed at home!

It was a great weekend made better with good friends. I tried to catch Larry for breakfast on the 4th but he

zoomed by me going north on 60 as I was making my way to TWO.

That sure was a great dinner, you guys coming over for dinner was the best part of the weekend. The BIG bottle of wine really did the trick. grin.gif

Hope I at least waved, I just don't recognize you on that bike. tongue.gif

And that, my friends, is what this board is all about! TWO can be utterly charming when it isn't overcrowded. One of my best BMWST memories was the time David, I, and Bill Hawkins stayed and rode the gravel off the roads around there. Dang, I still owe Bill for a night's stay... smirk.gif

We still need to get the spouses and GFs out for a Significant Others Weekend...Suches, Dahlonega, Highlands, etc.
