David McClain
My 95 RSL front master cylinder needs replacing and I'm curious if I can successfully bleed it with vacuum or the old fashioned way by pumping the lever? Link to comment
duckbubbles
Hi, David- Yes, the master cylinder can be bled the old fashioned way. If you are careful, the brake line can be taken off, attached to the new master cylinder and then just working the lever slowly with small movements, will let the air out. You can watch the bubbles until they disappear and you are almost done. Frank Link to comment

jbuchan
You might want to think about getting the "speed bleeder" here is the site http://www.speedbleeder.com/. Bmw service requires that the ABS systems be bled once a year. These one way valves make it very easy. John Link to comment
David McClain
I've heard about the speedbleeders but until now I haven't had a need for them. Maybe if I had them in the past I wouldn't be needing to replace the master cylinder! Guess I'll be ordering at least 3 of them .....thanks for the reminder! Link to comment
