IT_Mike
Mentioned a sporatic wobble while they were putting on new tires. Service Mgr. and Mech. looked at it and agreed, final drive faulure. They're working on BMWNA warranty approval now. Feels like road snake when applying power through the curves. I'll keep you apprised. Mike Link to comment

IT_Mike
Confirmed. BMWNA will replace it. Stuart has the part on order (they have some in the US ), should be in middle of next week. They're also fixing my newly-loose saddlebags. I'll post that separately for the search engine. Now I just have to find another free day to spend at the shop. Mortons' is 270mls round trip. IT_Mike
Apparently, there was some debate over how much 'play' is normal in the new final drives. Stuart (Service Mgr., Morton's BWM) pushed for the replacement. (Just can't say enough good things about that shop...) Mike Link to comment

But glad that you'll be back on the road soon. Link to comment
John Ranalletta
Confirmed. BMWNA will replace it.Well ya, they had better... Hell, I thought it was a feature, not a defect. The benefit being becoming much more familiar with the archane art of determining bearing preload. Link to comment
