Morning Hadabadachada I can't remember doing a 2013R with fuel strip (onboard computer option). I couldn't even find much in the service manual for the 2013R, I had to go back to the 2010R to find anything. So check your PM's (Personal Messages) as I sent you the info I have (with picture). Just make sure it matches what you are working with.
mikegalbicka Posted January 6 Posted January 6 I have a lot of info about the fuel strip in this youtube video but it pertains to my 07RT. I am not sure how much is the same on your model.

Hadabadachada Posted January 6 Author Posted January 6 Thanks for the info and the DM. I think that will be enough to get by. I need to swap gas tanks. I’m hoping to just pull this out and put it in the new one, without having to calibrate it or any of that jazz.

Afternoon Hadabadachada As long as the tanks are the same (same fuel capacity & shape) then you shouldn't have to re-calibrate it. Might not be perfect but should be pretty darn close. 1
mikegalbicka Posted January 6 Posted January 6 Do not turn the power on between swapping the strips or you will throw a code and then have to calibrate for sure.

Evening mikegalbicka I haven't seen this be a big issue. It can set a fault code if it doesn't see a connected fuel strip after a key ON but that fault code usually self clears after the fuel tank reinstall then a key ON re-start (or two) plus sometimes a short ride, but I haven't ever had to re-calibrate one for a key ON with tank disconnected. But it can take a while after an engine re-start (and sometimes a short ride) to start responding. Unless it was mistakenly put into calibration mode with the tank disconnected then I don't see how it could lose it's calibration. 1
Indy Dave Posted January 6 Posted January 6 ^^^^^^ this ^^^^^^^^^^ I've powered up many hex/cam heads with the tank removed and never once had an issue with a code or fuel strip error.
