Fall Torrey '25. the 50th!

Chuckwagon has the dates Thurs Sept 18 to Sun Sept 21....I believe it to be an error.

 

Thought it was always the last weekend in Sept..... Did someone here change the dates? Can we confirm the dates so reservations can commence?

 

Dates should be Thurs Sept 25 to Sun Sept 28,  that correct?

Conservatively, we've got almost a year to figure it out...

Usually during the fall Torrey they start accepting reservations for the next year's Spring and Fall Torrey.  As far as I knew they wouldn't have anything in the books yet for next year.  When I'm there next week I'll let him know the error so it can be corrected.

I just asked the question. Sorry if it might appear I’m stepping on toes. That wasn’t the intent. I encountered an issue with the dates and Chuckwagon when I canceled the current event because of a serious health reason I just experienced, then asked if I could reserve next year. She got back to me with what I thought was a wrong date. So I asked the question here, not knowing who makes the official call on the date. And then you made the comment “ when should we decide”. Which isn’t really the issue. 
 

BrianT answered perfectly. And I’m sure he’ll make sure the date mistake won’t be made by Chuckwagon, and he’ll reinforce the last weekend each year is set aside for the group.

In years past you had to worry about early sell outs due to our large group plus the tourists and limited other hotel options.  Lately that hasn't been an issue with our very small numbers compared to prior years and a lot more hotel options in town.

FYI the dates have been corrected with the Chuckwagon for when our Fall dates are.  Last full weekend of September as our norm.  The weekend of 9/25/25-9/28/25.

You can reserve on line, but if you talk to them and mention the event, you might get a better rate.

Ok, time to bump this up the awareness tree.... 

 

Torrey #50 is happening soon... This is the fiftieth gathering held by BMWST located in Torrey Utah.  Dates for Fall of 2025  will be 9/25 - 9/28. The Chuckwagon is still the headquarters but many more lodging options exist.

 

This means that for 25 years BMWST members and interested riders have traveled to Torrey to ride great roads with great scenery and enjoy the friendship of other riders.

 

Its true that the event has drawn fewer participants since its heydays when the Chuckwagon parking lot was a sea full of BMW R and GS bikes with an occasional Japanese bike thrown in for good measure.

 

Or again jam packed for a wedding of two of its members.

 

Its also true that there are a limited number of routes available ... and after attending several to many times, the options can be limited. But if you haven't been in years, they're still great roads.

 

 Another comment I've heard is because of the limited routes, its turned into more of just a social event.   

 

Sooooooooooooooo ??  Whats wrong with that particularly since this year's gathering is the historic 50th?  Meet old friends , make new ones. Maybe even receive a bespoke commemorative sticker.

 

If you haven't been in years or maybe considering attending your first BMWST event , do consider attending Torrey 50 ! It won't happen again

I'd point out that the UnRally is at Lee Vining, CA just before.  The timing is intended to allow folk to attend both events sequentially.

BTW - Be sure to book directly through the Chuckwagon. $560 for 3 nights in the motel, king room. I tried two other sites just to see the difference. One was $980 and the other one was $1286. 
Be sure to ask for the BMW Group rate.
