HobyF Posted May 31, 2024 Posted May 31, 2024 I have owned 1000rr but since I recently got married looking at a used 2020 R1250RT so we both can ride together for long distances. I found a wraparound backrest with arm supports to purchase. Looking for someone who has experience cross country two up with one of these passenger wraparound backrest. Feedback on your experience would be appreciated. Thank you.
DBULL Posted May 31, 2024 Posted May 31, 2024 I have not used a backrest on our RT 1250, but I put a pair on the LT we had. My wife hated them. She made me take them off after a short ride. her arms were placed in an awkward position for her. And it felt more restrictive and confining to her. But there are many who have had the opposite opinion. If at all possible, before you buy, see if you could find someone who has the brand you are going to use to see if it fits. I thought I was doing her a favor. It didn't work that way You will, however, love the 1250. We are heading out on a nearly 3 week trip to Alaska, WA state shortly.
Dennis Andress Posted May 31, 2024 Posted May 31, 2024 S1000 RR, yeah? Have you tried an XR? I had a 1250 RS; somewhere around 80mph ShiftCam would shift my gas mileage about 10mpg down.
