Hadabadachada Posted May 22, 2024 Posted May 22, 2024 2013 R1200R Looking to remove the exhaust valve and servo motor. I hear that it’ll log an error IN the computer, but not show on dash? also wondering if anyone has the size of the pipe piece needed? I’d figure someone’s taken the measurements. Maybe I’ll have to. hoping to just go to the machine shop and get it made there than buying one. tho I’m not opposed to buying a made one. my cables and rig are just looking trashy, rusty, time to clean it up…by removing.
Oldrider51 Posted May 22, 2024 Posted May 22, 2024 I believe that an error will show on the instrument panel. Removed this from my 16 RS and installed a Servo Buddy that canceled the error.
Hadabadachada Posted May 23, 2024 Author Posted May 23, 2024 I guess the other option is to just unhook the cables from the motor and remove the flap w/cables and let the servo still work? I’ll deal with what we error it gives, what id really like to know is the specs on the pipe, so I can just take numbers to the machine shop, take the pipe home and just fit it. age of convenience, I don’t want to do anything but the last part of the job. looks like I can buy the pipe online for like 60 plus, guess it’s not tooooooo bad shrug..

Morning Hadabadachada Just remove your valve & take it to a local muffler shop. I removed (by-passed) a seized valve on a friends camhead a few years ago. I just removed the valve, gave it to him then had him hit a couple of muffler shops to find a piece of stainless steel straight pipe. I didn't measure it but the stainless pipe he brought to me looked to be about 2.5" OD. I needed to shorten it to valve length. Your OEM valve pipe size is in metric but some metric sizes match up close to inches. Measure your exhaust valve, if it is in fact 2.5" then something like this from E-Bay would probably work. This is 6" long & your OEM valve is about 3" long (give or take). https://www.ebay.com/itm/285853402154?itmmeta=01HYJG9FYGRT736GSGVC1RJRGZ&hash=item428e30c42a:g:f8MAAOSwlJlmPnWI&itmprp=enc%3AAQAJAAAA4E2z%2BzTrQY2EUzgkdIJWthQi8rR8S9q8w8vSG3Tt0RS3UH5%2BJslXazUdspd9F0EJ3cpQY83w7imOST3An39dLreasfSUsLjZLMvwe1IB%2FF04waZkqUHRyO1X%2Fs9e8opRsZiicUHRlFDN78rTee55J0MDj%2FmhJXTtJASAkbaykcKT5uKd3KuH3MYy8giv3SSjfXkgLGiBBhQo4i2%2BWzorE3XRlcAncTXL8DrMZBxdSaDVT7o8zYzVI8W38hwXz4AGOa68GOOsNDTdHUcoQv8zwLTGrUG2YAT%2BEgicjECTi3ie|tkp%3ABk9SR7D_pdD0Yw
