Fitted sheets suck

Why?

My new fitted sheet won't stay fitted....have to refit it every morning.  Elastic band around bottom is too weak.   Most aggravating!

In this household, we share our labor.  So, I do laundry, dishes, sweeping, vacuuming, mopping cleaning, just as much as her,....just depends on who gets to it first.

I've no issue with doing laundry, 'cept for fitted freakin' sheets.  In the washer, they envelope other pieces of stuff into an elastic corner to throw the washer outta whack.  In the dryer, they envelope other pieces of stuff into a ball of that elastic corner so the interior of the ball does not dry.  And these are less than a year old Maytags--good kit.

Then, when you hafta fold it, nah, ain'ta ahappening with me.  Wife can do it, and she likes her fitted sheet, and can fold them like they came outta the package, me, I ball it up and leave to her to fold.

Then on the bed, yep, on occasion, they pop off.  That military/hospital corners doesn't ever seem to pop off.  Our bed is made every morning----'cause if nothing, you've accomplished a task,....it's a positive start to every day.

Get Hotel Brand sheets, not cheap, but don't pop off, and comfy too.

I don't know if you can do such things.  I've tried to get mattresses that I've really enjoyed in some motels.  Nope, only sold to commercial accounts.

Do they fold themselves.

If you buy them from the hotel, the sheets come with (optional) Housekeeping Staff to fold them for you.   :burnout:

I share chores with Id, Ego, & Super Ego., and there's always a fight over who does it!   Perhaps, if I was nicer, there'd be a MRS Bamajohn to share the joy.

Nah....we had a meeting, and no one could put up with me.

Hotel is a brand name, we get them at Macy's. High thread count (600-800 or more). So comfortable.

There is a procedure to fold fitted sheets.

Bring two corners together and tuck one into the other, do the same with the other two, bring all 4 together, tuck the two into the other two. Then just roll that g-d sob into a ball, throw it into the corner of the closet, and give it the finger as you walk away.

No less an authority than Martha Stewart once stated that "the problem with fitted sheets is that they don't" (fit that is). She recommended using flat sheets and then proceeded to illustrate her technique to making a bed properly which was in typical Martha Stewart fashion, pure perfection.

I can make a bed to perfection with nice, tight corners, zero wrinkles, six inch fold of the sheets at the top with a total of 18" of white showing........taught, real taught......but not with no silly fitted sheet.  (useta cheet and use safety pins to ensure the tightness stayed)

And the making the bed ain't my biggest complaint about the fitted sheets, it's the laundry, both washer and dryer.......those are the biggest issues with the stoopid things.

She probably learned her bed making skills while in prison.
