Hi, i thought I would see if anyone has any advice when I look at it. He says the battery is dead, I might bring one, or try to start it with my booster pack. 

 

How much are a new set of tires for bombing mostly gravel roads? It probably needs tires. 

 

He's asking 5000.

That doesn't look at all like 5k worth of bike to me.......

5k for a 2000. lol. Maybe he could drop a hundo and get it running first.

24 year old wiring, rubber lines, brake lines, that bike will likely need quite a bit of attention, besides the new tires which will likely run close to $500 installed. $3k would be a closer number for me.

JDPower has it listed at $2150.

When is the last time it ran? How old is the fuel? The booster pack may not start it if the battery is bad.

You are right, I am not going near it. I must be old, 2000 doesn't sound like 24 years ago to me. 

 

Plus the guy was super flaky
