steve68 Posted May 7, 2024 Posted May 7, 2024 So I was putting on my left side pannier and the clasp broke right off. Shown below is the intact clasp from the RHS pannier. The left pannier is zip-tie secured to the bike and a PIA to take off. So imagine the photo below with the clasp snapped off clean just about flush with the platic surface of the pannier.  Any thoughts about how to fix? Or if possible? I can send more pics if necessary. thanks, steven

steve68 Posted May 8, 2024 Author Posted May 8, 2024 Here's something for $57 Â https://shop.maxbmw.com/fiche/PartsSearch.aspx?&searchtype=undefined&vid=51768&category=Fiche&brand=BMW&parts=71607654337

dirtrider Posted May 8, 2024 Posted May 8, 2024 15 minutes ago, steve68 said: You don't think this is it? Afternoon Steve  No, those parts are not for the latch.  You need the "L" shaped tongue thingy shown in picture below. That part only comes as part of the 46542307620 MULTI-PURPOSE BOX. Â
MT Wallet Posted May 8, 2024 Posted May 8, 2024 I broke mine off as well and disassembled the mechanism from the pannier. No joy in finding a BMW replacement. I subsequently bought a pannier and changed out the lock slugs. You could buy a beat up bag with a good mechanism and pop rivet it back in place of the old one.
steve68 Posted May 9, 2024 Author Posted May 9, 2024 this looks a bit more affordable, but not sure I trust it.... Â https://www.euronetbike.net/bmw-46542307620.html

Or try Cross Country Cycle, they show $205.00 with free shipping.  My guess is neither place stocks it, so IF (kind of a big IF) they can still get that part then it will probably be close to a month or more (IF) they can still get it.  Euronetbike shows "at the maker (manufacturer)" so you have that wait plus the shipping wait to you.  Â
Redfoxx Posted May 9, 2024 Posted May 9, 2024 Motorworks.uk has them I think part was $115 Euro, about $120 US plus shipping
