The Perfect Angle.

So, you’re probably thinking WTH did Patty get into today to just toss out a random Ducati 900SS SP picture.
I
1, fixed a leaking fuel shutoff. For now anyway.

2, changed out a blistering brake reservoir cap.

3, removed the glue from a tank pad that wouldn’t stick. The glue nearly stuck my fingers together, go figure.

Hard to find a bad angle of that classic Duck!  I had a '96 SS/SP and loved it for many years.  Put up with the Italian-ness until it totally pissed me off one too many times.

Here’s a much older picture of my bike and a much younger picture of me. :spittake: My buddy’s bike has been that problem child you speak of. He still has it but yeah, probably where it’s not costing him anything to sit is why it’s still in his garage.

Looks like high mounted Staintunes on the '91 (?).  Put them on my '96 along with 39mm smoothbores.  Best performance mod for a stocker.

My bike boke cylinder studs, 6th gear needle bearing, cam belt, clutch cylinder seal, frame cracked at steering head, fuel pump, speedometer cable and the final straw was the chrome on both fork sliders was scratched by something deep enough to cause leakage.  I took it apart and had them ground down and re-chromed with an industrial chrome finish.  6 months later it started leaking again and that was it.

I loved that bike despite it's problems.  Kept it for 10 years and 85,000+ miles doing all the work on it myself.

Wow, that’s quite a list but man 85K, that’s impressive!

edit… I believe his bike is a 93. He put the solo tail and the Staintunes on after a crash. Not to soon after, he had to have the engine repaired (not sure if it was related to the crash) but he put the 944 piston kit in it.

a couple pictures of my redhead from some years back.  I loved this and to this day can't figure why I sold it.

I'm not much of a picture taker.  I sold my 907 to buy this 900SS.  It was a good bike but I never grew to it like the 907.  here it's parked next to my 95RSL

Sharing lunch with a better know ducati fan in Fredriscksberg,TX 1996. Right after this a woman dropped a cigarette ash on the tank of his 916 here.  He was a true gentleman in his reaction.
