matanuska Posted June 4, 2006 Share Posted June 4, 2006 Finally got my parts for the clutch/spline replacement from Chicago BMW. All the parts look like they match except the new clutch pushrod (bottom). My original doesn’t have the notch in the middle. Is this for that felt piece that I’ve heard reference to? It would seem a logical place for it. Fortunately, I did order the felt piece even though I wasn’t sure what it was. Just heard somewhere that it should be changed. Link to comment
Boffin Posted June 4, 2006 Share Posted June 4, 2006 Yes, the felt 'seal' fits in the notch on the pushrod. It is there to soak up any leaks from the clutch slave cylinder so as to stop the clutch being taken out as well. Cya, Andy Link to comment
