National Motorcycle Museum to Close

Visited this place back in 2015 with my late buddy Ron.  Very sad to see any MC point of interest close.

That is sad news, been there a few times while in Davenport for the swap meet and races. A hell of a collection of bikes there.

I wonder whether the motorcycles will go to Barber (Leeds, AL) and the bicycles to Greenfield Village (Henry Ford museum in Dearborn, MI) ?

It's nice to think they will end up in another museum.  At least we can hope that happens.

According to the article, loaners go back to the owners, the rest sold off to cover expenses, including much of John Perham's personal collection.

Makes sense ... I am always surprised at how many bikes in museums like this are "loaners".  I love the Kansas Motorcycle Museum and know a lot of the bikes on display there are on loan.
