what other manufacturers make a lowered seat for the 1150rt? I have looked at Sargent yet it is very expensive at $600 plus. It appears that corbin doesn't make a lowered seat. Anyone else make a lowered seat for the 1150rt? It is uncomfortable tiptoeing. any help is appreciated.

Have you considered going with the "non-comfort" but lower seat that came on the 1100s? It's a direct replacement for the "comfort" seats that came on the 1150s. A little narrower in the butt, but definitely lower.

Oh, and I happen to have an extra... smirk.gif

Custom saddle makers, like Bill Meyer, can narrow the thigh area which gives you more "purchase" on the ground...I have a 29-1/2" inseam and wife's 1150RT with a Bill Meyer on it in the low position almost gets my heels down on both sides......He builds on your pan and you don't have to get the pillion so you save $ there.......

I just ordered a low Sergent for my 1200RT......Delivered next week....I have a low BMW seat on it now and height is fine but wouldn't like the comfort on long rides......Ride sometimes in the high position but I never have a passenger and that would make a difference with the need for ground availability......

I am sort of new to this stuff so no I didn't know the 1100 seat would fit a 1150rt seat. Is this the stock seat for the 1100 that lowers the 1150rt and if so by how much? I need lowered about an inch to an inch and a half.

Do a seat search on here dealing with "comfort" or "standard". Should be plenty of background there. My 99 1100 is currently running a "comfort" seat which was an option for the 1100s but came standard on the 1150s. I think they're a pure swap for all years.

Yeah... I'd estimate a 1" change in height between the two. I'm sure others will chime in.

Try a local automotive upholstery shop where you live. With a 30 inch inseam, I am also straining a little to get my feet on the ground on my 04 1150RT. I took my stock seat and the upholstery shop peeled back the vegetarian leather (Ok, it's vinyl) and shaved the foam down an inch with an electric meat carving knife and then reapplied the vinyl. Voila!! No wrinkles, still comfortable, done in a day and cheap - $85. What is there not to like?? He was mostly a Harley seat specialist but I looked at his work and it was very good.

Wunderlich! Love mine. I'm a 30" inseam and with the Wunderlich Ergo Low I can flat foot without any effort whatsoever. In fact I can even get sunlight between my crotch and the seat if I stand. Comfy, durable, and excellent construction.
