Factory build date

Any way to find the factory build date of my R12RT? I've looked but haven't found a sticker on the bike that states the date of manufacture.

Look under the seat at the VIN sticker. You'll see a "MFD" number - that's your build month/year.

and plug in the last 7 digits of your VIN.

Canadian R12RTs are different. VIN#'s give an error message at the link

http://www.realoem.com/bmw/select.do?vin=&kind=M&arch=0 when the last 7 digits of my VIN are entered.

And, the VIN sticker under the seat has no MFD code or date. I've looked on every visible sticker without removing the tupperware and searching for a hidden frame sticker.

Thanks for the suggestions but still no joy. Any other ideas?

Rusty's Euro data base ends at 09/2005 with VIN ZM14799. Any VIN newer than that will not be resolved correctly until he updates the ETK files. You 'could' try here:

http://www.bmw-z1.com/VIN/VINdecode-e.cgi

His data is more up-to-date for build dates.
