Time Zone changes

I didn't want to tag on to another person's threads about the TFT and new bikes but noticed on this year's Sturgis run that my display did NOT update properly when driving through a time zone change running across the country.

All of my older R1200's did this properly and on the fly, so to speak.

I've looked all over the system settings but don't see anything about time zones.

I know, I know, everybody should have these problems.    And it is a simple thing to change (as long as you're not actually riding down the interstate at the time) but it does seem like some kind of a bug.

The phone driving the map display DOES update properly, but the bike does not.

Any ideas?

Very good point. I have an interstate trip coming up in a few weeks, which means will face time zone crossings twice there and twice back, Down Under. While made travel plans with accommodation pre-booked and everything else organised, never thought about the time zones, just assumed the phones will update and the bike follows suit.

I can only think of setting the bike's time on the dash whenever required. Unless someone has a better solution.

AD, the difference is Garmin GPS VS TFT.  The Garmin (Nav V/VI) would update time and date on the go, so crossing time zone was just part of the update.  The TFT only works manually, I miss the auto update for Time Zones and Daylight Saving time changes.
