PastorJay
We have never owned a Bluetooth communication device. I'm not too interested in music sound quality. I just want to communicate clearly with my passenger without turning my head and shouting. Would love to hear your suggestions. Thanks. Link to comment
chrisolson
There are two main manufacturers... Sena and Cardo. There are others, but I believe these are recognized as most popular. I've owned both over the years and my preference is Cardo. The Senna for me, was always "not quite right" in various respects ... (slow or no connection with Zumo or phone depending on connection sequence and VOX never perfect plus inconsistent updates) . But I'm sure there are others who've had Sena without issue and loved it . It works, just for me the Cardo was / is better overall . The Cardo worked perfectly out of the box and I found the mike sensitivity (VOX) to be perfect. The Cardo "mesh" connection works well even with just rider and passenger during fueling stops or other off bike moments ... if it looses connection due to distance it will reconnect automatically . Sena has something similar. 27 minutes ago, PastorJay said: I'm not too interested in music sound quality. This is more a function of in helmet speakers and their placement vs ear buds rather than a function of the communication unit itself ... with ear buds having best sound quality ... but speakers being more convenient . 1 Link to comment
John Ranalletta
Jay, try to find an earlier Cardo Scalarider Q1 pair. We've used one for many years. It's your basic comm system and supports bluetooth pairing to phone and gps. Also has an FM radio when riding near populated areas. I listen to music and audiobooks. I'm not recommending these specific items. Buy with return option only from highly rated sellers on Ebay. Brodiepunker18
I agree with Cardo. I spent too much time researching the best and it’s between cardo and sena but cardo seems to have better quality in my opinion. I have the packtalk bold model. I thoroughly enjoy it. 1 Link to comment

I never liked in-helmet speakers and we opt for in-ear buds plugged into the Cardo unit. If you go this route, add the cost to your budge. I use Shure studio buds. Ruth has silicon ear units. simskid Posted yesterday at 07:30 PM Share Posted yesterday at 07:30 PM Hi Pastor J. I assume your half helmet covers your ears. If so, changing speakers from one helmet to the other is a bit of a pain. It may be better to order a separate set of speakers from Cardo and keep those installed so you can switch helmets with ease. You'll love the Cardo. I have both SENA and Cardo - Cardo is best for me. Ride Safe John 2016 RT Link to comment
