Groanup
Didn't take any the first day. Just a dull ride through the desert... These pics are from the second day of the "Two Day Ride To Torrey" Add yours if you have some! On the way to the North Rim Nice place to sit n think... North Rim, Grand Canyon We scattered some of Eddd's ashes out there on that rock. Some Friends The tar snakes were thick, but didn't have much bite. After the North Rim, we jetted out to Marble Canyon. It was dusty and the desert was being a blowhard, so I didn't stop for any more pics that day. 4 1 Link to comment
Groanup
Friday 5/20/2022 We stayed the night at the Marble Canyon Lodge. The restaurant was decent. The morning view from the front porch wasn't bad either... After riding through some substantial head-winds and dust, we arrived at Goulding's Lodge in Monument Valley. Had some fry bread with honey for lunch. Apparently, this location was used for one or two westerns, back in the day... Mexican Hat was the next (gas) stop. No reason to get my camera out. Didn't look like a hat to me, but I have limited imagination. Moki Dugway was next. I stopped to take a pic of this sign... ...and was having so much fun riding up the 10% grade with my street tires on gravel, that I didn't think to stop and take any pics on the way up... That's OK though. I'm sure someone will post one or two. Hite Overlook That was all for Friday. Saturday was the ride in remembrance of Eddd. That's all I have to say about that... The last couple are from Sunday's ride on the way to Mesquite. Cedar Breaks... Welp, that's all I've got. I hope you liked 'em. 6 1 Link to comment
Dennis Andress
I failed to secure my top case when I left Sunday Morning. @Rob Nowell found it about a mile from the hotel and dropped it off at the Chuckwagon. Thanks Rob. I retrieved it Tuesday on my way home from Montrose. It's beat up enough to need a new top half, or maybe a bunch of stickers. I want to do the Spring Torrey ride to the North Rim again. Spring of 2023 anyone? Not a bad place for lunch. I enjoyed the Moki Dugway. I wished I had stopped more to take pictures but maybe that's worth a car ride. Rainbow 4 1 Link to comment
BrianT
A few more pics of the trip. North Rim of Grand Canyon Leaving the North Rim, how many BMW riders does it take to plug a punctured tire? At the top of the Moki Dugway Edddds final ride. At Mt Gleno on Sweeper Madness overlook. A literal natural oasis in the desert. 400 gallons per minute bubbles out if I remember the sign correctly. Here's Larry trying to decide if it's a mirage or if he should jump in. The oasis feeds these pools. 9 1 Link to comment
Dennis Andress
More pictures... The land of (sleeping) tar snakes. It was warmer when I went back to Torrey to get my top case. I was slipping a lot on the tar snakes east of the Reef. More North Rim pics Not one of us but a nice Moki Dugway shot Colorado Taken at the the Gateway Auto Museum.
