graydude
Just touching base with those attending. The route has been finalized at 254 miles. It will include all the greatest hits including Palomar Mountain, the glass elevator, Sunrise Mountain, the Mexican border and much more. The first stop will be 55 miles at a gas station. Those who cannot make the entire trip on one tank can fill up here and get rid of the morning coffee. I'm planning lunch at The Pub on Lake Cuyamaca at 125 miles or three hours or so. This will be an all day ride so plan accordingly. Side stands up at 9:00. No stop for fuel for 55 miles. I think we should plan on dinner at The Barn, next store. They did a good job last year. Let me know who is in for dinner and I'll see if we can get a reservations. Should be loads of fun! 2 1 Link to comment

Or are there differences? I guess what I'm asking is, can I reverse the track from last year on my GPS, or do I need to build a new one? Link to comment
graydude
Reversed yes but not exactly the same as I’ve planned different lunch and gas stop. 1 Link to comment

graydude
Our lunch will be at Lake Cuyamuca in San Diego county. We could stop at the hideout and brawl with Harley riders. 1 Link to comment
longjohn
I’ll be taking the long way down to Ramona by going thru the San Gabriel, the San Bernardino, and the San Jacinto Mts. I did this several yrs ago on the way to Temecula and it was quite memorable. Glendora mt rd>mt baldy rd>210>18>38>10>243>74>sage rd>79 I’ll be leaving from Starbucks on route66 at 8:15ish, and expect to roll into Ramona around 4:40. Making it to banning by 11 is iffy. Chime in if you want to ride along. 1832 E Route 66 A Glendora, CA 91740 United States Link to comment

graydude
I’ve not made any. Dinner Saturday at The Barn for 6:30. Reservation for 10 Link to comment
Bigfish
Put Carl and Dennis into the Barn for Saturday please. We will ride up and say hey on Friday evening. Now that I figured out my throttle idle issue all is good to go. Ask me about that fiasco Sat night ;-) 1 Link to comment
Stir
I want remind the riders that I live 10 miles away from Ramona Inn and "The Barn". Friday night, I will be swinging by to say hello. Saturday, I'm in for the full ride. Side stands up at 9:00 sounds perfect! I have a very awesome set of tools, so if someone needs to work on their bikes, you can do so at my home. In addition. I will have the trailer hooked up just incase we have to fetch someone. Looking forward to this. L8R. My phone number is 760 492-6534 M 1 Link to comment
longjohn
On the way home I went up to Glendora ridge road. This pic is near mt baldy @Thor and @Bigfish here is a site that makes GoPro helmet mounts custom made for the different manufacturers out there. Peel and stick. Easy peasy. It’s easier than buying jb weld putty and 3m 4991 vhb tape. https://ridetechmoto.com/collections/helmet-chin-mounts Link to comment

graydude
Great riding and weather with my peeps. Sorry for the GPS snafoos. Ride leaders should always pre-ride the route but when you are 300 miles away it is more difficult. Just for the record, we made over 80 turns on Saturday. Bound to be a glitch or two. Next year will be better at the San Vicente Golf resort. Link to comment

Bigfish
We had a blast. Carla really enjoys all you peeps and brags to her friends about riding in the motorcycle gang. Thanks again Todd for organizing the event. Now we are looking forward to North meets South. Link to comment
Groanup
Yep yep, Great fun as always! Thanks for setting it up again Todd. I'm looking forward to staying someplace else next time, though I will miss dinner at The Barn. If you live anywhere near SoCal, consider joining us next time. There are some really great roads and views in San Diego County! A couple of pics: Link to comment
Dennis Andress
Thanks Todd! Well done. Good people, good roads, good food, and no drama. I'd forgotten how green and beautiful California is during Spring. The Duck did a yeoman's job putting together Friday's ride. I had a tail wind all the way home. There was less traffic than usual for a Sunday, though I had to do a few miles of high speed splitting approaching Baker. 2 Link to comment
Rob Nowell
What a great weekend. Thanks, Duck & Gray Dude, for your time and effort; I had a blast! I will be back down there several times before next year's Ramona Days!!! Link to comment
longjohn
Some pics from the long way down to Ramona. I started out at starbucks, of course, in Glendora. I then headed up on Glendora Mt Rd, on that glorious morn. When the center line disappears I''m on Glendora Ridge Rd. Some members met for breakfast at 8am to start off the Ramona days weekend. As I would have had to leave the house at 6'30, I chose to sleep longer and hit the road instead. Good roads beat restaurant food. Every. Time. More to come... 3 Link to comment
longjohn
A few more pics from the long way down to Ramona. Still on Ridge road After reaching Mt Baldy I headed down to the 210 and made my way up 18, here looking down into the Fontana, San Bernardino area. 18 is one constant radius turn after another. :) While glancing to my right I kept seeing a dark stripe across the communities below. Then it dawned on me that it was a shadow from the contrail above. I had never seen one before. I then turned onto 38 to see the north shore of Big Bear Lake. Here I'm headed down 38 into Yucaipa, Oak Glen and Cherry Valley, with a stop for lunch in Banning. After lunch I headed up 243 to Idyllwild. Notice the snow still on the mountains near Big Bear, on the far left of this pic. It's always a treat to ride on 243, especially when it's this clear. And clear it was! More to come... 1 1 Link to comment
