Blake8098
Bought new mirrors a while back for the rt and they don’t seem to fit very good. Is there a way to replace the male pieces in case they’re worn or make the circle clamp things tighter? I tried pinching the little arms in the circle but when I put it on it just jammed them down into there and I had to pry them back out. Link to comment
Michaelr11
The base plate of the mirror is available from BMW. There's a left and a right part. Not cheap, but it will tighten up the mirror assembly. I bit my tongue and bought one a few years ago and the mirror goes on and holds very tight now. Link to comment
RogerC60
I bought a non-BMW mirror base plate on eBay a couple of years ago and it has been working well. Link to comment

Afternoon Blake8098 This is one of those things that you need to be working hands-on & in person to make an informed suggestion. Back in the 1100 days I worked on more than a few that had a bent support plate. That caused the pins to not stick out far enough for the fingered clips to push on far enough to fully snap onto the pins. Sometimes the pins can be shimmed out a little farther with little washers & other times the support plate needs to remove & reformed to move the pins out a little farther (or replaced). Or possibly something else is causing the issue (like mis-built replacement mirrors, or damaged fingered clips). You need to try to identify EXACTLY WHAT is causing the problem then address that area. Link to comment
