Hi all 

Appreciate any help 

Looking at a 2012 R1200rt

Only 5000 km on the clock

Is this of any concern in regard to maybe not having been " run in " properly?

Apparently it has been serviced yearly ( you would wonder why you would bother)

Any way of checking whether going to end up with a oil burner?

You are posting in the oilhead forum here but you are asking about a camhead motorcycle. But not a big deal as most camhead posters will still find your post here. Future posts should probably go in the camhead forum. 

 

On your  "run in " question, no way to really know as it's the first 1000 km's that are the most important & even then most do break-in properly without any special treatment.

 

You might be able to see some signs of oil burning on the spark plugs if the owner will allow those to be removed & inspected.
