Lowndes
The world is a lonely place when you run out of gas. I chanced upon BamaJohn and Rockosmith at TWO in Suches just before lunch. We worked up big appetites catching up on everything. They were headed to Maggie Valley the long way, Wolfpen Gap and over Blood Mountain. I talked them in to letting me tagalong for a ways. Had to turn off at the Dollar General on Adair Mill. Couldn't catch 'em to tell 'em I's leavin. Waved and honked. They were having fun but I knew I'd need gas real soon. About 3 miles into the spagetti bowl of great little roads just east of Dahlonega, I felt the first little hesitation. Half a mile later the flame was out. Two more miles I'd have made it. Several bikes stopped but told 'em I'd just wait on a guy in a pickup with a gas can. Sure enough a guy and his wife in a beautiful new V8 Tundra saw all that white hair standin there and turned around. A few minutes later I had enough to get me to that station. There are still a lot of very nice people out there. I gotta remember to set that trip meter and to get that low fuel light fixed. 10 Link to comment

Redman
well, I have 30 reasons why not getting the r18tc. Even with trade in , I suppose would still be 25-26-27 reasons. it did fit me well, and was enjoyable. Although That scenario: broke bike (‘02 RT), trade in, get another. That is how I got the ‘09 RT, June last year. Link to comment

Today I started at White Lake Channel on the Montague side and rode the shoreline to Silver Lake, Pentwater, the lake side of the Ludington pumped storage power plant, then back south on 31. I only took a photo at the channel. 3 Link to comment
Michiganr80rt
Another ride up the lakeshore. Photos from Arcadia, Point Betsie Lighthouse, the Glen Arbor lifesaving station, and looking out at the islands. Oh yes, I did get caught in the thunderstorms south of Ludington on the ride back. Redman
Had a few rides in recent days. Yesterday, Ran some errands in Muskegon and Grand Rapids, with some wandering around in between. here is a scene in Muskegon. Statue of Buster Keaton, one of the early film makers. why such a statue? His family was vaudeville preformers that lived in Muskegon for the summers when vaudeville acts took a break for summer. (And now In September is the International Convention of the buster keaton society and the Damfinos.) 4 Link to comment
dba
I've lived in the west for most of my life, but I have never seen the iconic Bixby Bridge nor the Elephant Seals on the beach further south. Hwy 1 has a few construction projects, but it was a nice ride. 11 Link to comment

walton66
Those rides up north are what I really miss since moving. Rode up to Sebring and back two weeks ago and 1 year and 2 days after hitting that deer in Utah, one came across from the left side and jumped over me, just hitting my mirror with a hoof. The guy that was following me freaked out. I saw it and was on the brakes and laying on the tank and was astounded to still be upright when I opened my eyes. 2 Link to comment
Rinkydink
Continuation of our western ride. Left Sandy UT and Evanston WY greeted us with 34° rain/sleet/snow. Landed in Montpelier ID. wet, cold, and tired. Precipitation of some kind almost the whole ride. First pic is what we didn’t have to ride in. Turned left and avoided that monstrosity. Second pic Bear Lake ID. Gorgeous. Pic does not do it justice. 3 Link to comment
