Front Fender Swap

Anyone ever swap a 1150RT fender to an 1100RT?  Like the looks of the 1150 better and was wondering if the lower fork brace from an 1150 would fit the 1100 forks?  Everything else appears to be the same as far as the side mounting location.

I can't answer your question without having the parts in hand to compare, might work OK & might be some hidden issues.

 

 We did have a member here that that put a '02-'04 K1200RS front fender on his 1100RT. See link below___

 

AndyS did put an 1100RT front fender on a an 1150RT so going that way seems possible.

This I could see as the 4 side mounting points are on both forks, then you just forego the 2 top rear ones from the 1150 lower brace.

 

Just not sure if a rear brace will fit as the 1150 fender uses the top mounting tabs and 2 side mounts.

 

Guess I will find a used brace and see if it will work.

I did the opposite. I liked the 1100 fender better and put it on the front of my 2004 R1150 RTP.

I took the rear of a front fender from a K1200RT and  put it on my R1100RT. It was a perfect fit (and longer than the R1100s), an easy way to extend that part of the fender.

It really give is a beefy look. I like it but obviously not to everyone's taste. Miguel

I goofed. Meant to say took the rear of the front fender from a K1200LT and placed it on my R1100RT. The holes lined up perfectly.

I've fitted both R1150R & R11RT front fenders onto my R1150RS. 

As long as lower forklegs have the same mounting points for the front fenders, likely you can swap to whichever front fender you like.

Well, got the parts and can confirm the lower fork brace from an 1150 will mount on an 1100.  1150 fender bolts right up after new brace installed.  Will get pics once its painted.
