ABBA is apparently back.

Still very catchy tunes, but the critics always hated them; not sure why.  They had a resurgence after the Mama Mia!, and are still raking in the royalties.  I heard but don't know for a fact that, after both couples divorced, one of the impediments to an earlier reunion was that the guys, whose idea it was to form the band, thought they were the stars and wanted more of the money when, in fact, the sound is definitely from the harmonies of the ladies (the AAs).  If true, I wonder if the guys relented and agreed to give them equal or better pay?

I was thinking the same thing. I honestly don't know how anyone can listen to only one type of music, it gets too boring for me. Hate to stereotype, but country fans seem to be the most closed minded toward other types of music.  :4907:

Overrated/overplayed, but they're on the iphone.  Just swapped/added/deleted a bunch of my tunes on the phone and the only Zep that I added was the Immigrant Song.  Flipped a bunch of techno in.

Some of the stuff I have is burned at too low a level so its to quiet to here on the bike, even with ear buds.  Simon and Garfunkle's Sounds of Silence,.....is,.....well, too silent to hear,......I think my phone died when a low burn rate tune comes on,....ugh!!

Also, since iphone's random algorithm sucks,...I run all my songs in alphabetical order so I don't hear the same song three times in one day.  I went ahead and added Fernando and The Winner Takes it All to the list on the iphone.

Led Zeppelin overrated..... but ABBA is cool.

Just cause you grew up with them doesnt make them “all that”, and I didn’t say abba was cool. I like them with equal enthusiasm to zepplin, they have some good songs.

I used to think there were no better band than Iron Maiden, my hi skool years they were the end all be all. Selling out 30k seat arenas with zero airplay (still do that), but when I finally started exploring different genres of music, there are no end all be alls, theres good artist with good songs.

I'll agree that there is no one end all be all band. Depending on my mood, any random band or song can be "the best ever".

Often there is a song I never gave much attention, but then hear it in the right circumstance, or used perfectly in a movie, and I have a whole new appreciation for it.

Or, a song is associated with a bad event, and it becomes unlistenable.

Music is such a personal thing, shared by so many.

Wheezers remake is identical to Toto's original

Erm, there will never be another Jeff Porcaro. Weezer's drummer is trying too hard. Other than that, it's a commendable effort.
