AZgman
A back beat style drummer much like Ringo Starr. Vastly underappreciated. Man, we are getting old! I remember the Stones first appearance on the Ed Sullivan show. Link to comment
wbw6cos
FYI, SiriusXM is paying tribute to Charlie by playing all Stones music on Deep Tracks channel 27. 1 Link to comment

Sonor
Charlie did a great job for the music he played. While that may sound like an "off handed" compliment, it truly is not. Too many drummers over play or play to impress and forget one basic tenet of drumming - you are there to SUPPORT the band/music. That said, Charlie played what was needed and did a fine job of it. As such, he is an inspiration and a reminder of what our job is and that we are part of a team (the band). RIP Charlie Link to comment
wbw6cos
So what you're saying is, he was The Beat of the Rolling Stones. 1 Link to comment
