Lowndes
What worries me is that so many believe so much of this rubbish without question. 1 Link to comment
szurszewski
Well, being a snopes fan I went over to fact check you ( ;) ) and it turns out you’re right. Certainly no excuse for the plagiarism and it absolutely undermines their credibility, though I was glad to see - so far - it seems that the transgressions are all copyright violations, and that they weren’t fabricating stories/facts/etc. I was particularly disappointed to see that while they did address it on the front page it was not at the top - I had to scroll past quite a few other things to find their statements. Though I have looked to snopes for years for urban legend type stuff I didn’t realize they’d become so involved in more current event/political “facts” lately. Maybe that wasn’t a great idea for them. On the brighter side, having been an occasional reader of The Onion for many years, I was a amused to find out about the Babylon Bee. They’ve got some funny stuff there (and clearly - the pieces I read anyway - satirical). Link to comment
