RCU shelf and Garmin 2720?

I have a R1200RT with a RCU shelf. I also have a Garmin 2720 and a Garmin motorcycle mount that I want to mount on the shelf. I'm not particularly happy with the plastic mount but might try it out if I can find a suitable bracket to attach it to the shelf, though I would rather use a Touratech locking bracket. Any success mounting the Touratech on the RCU shelf? TIA

I have the R1150RT with the RCU shelf and a 2610. I used the permanent mount on the shelf. My screen can not come all the way down, probably 1 inch from being down.

 

Also, I can get enough vibration on the shelf that the touch screen activates its self.
