I have only done one valve CHECK, I got lucky & they didn't need an adjustment so I didn't have to remove the camshafts.

 

I sent you some info on the service procedure. It isn't a walkthrough but gives you most of the info that you need. (check your messages on this site)

 

Not for the faint of heart_ but if the person doing the job has a pretty good handle on modern chain driven overhead cam engine mechanics it is doable at home.

Thanks dirtrider, you never fail to help those in need. Embarrassing that I frequent that forum and had failed to find it.  $700 quote from dealer might indicate they may go over the book allowance if they have to replace shims. I’ve got ~1,000 miles to get everything laid out. Thanks again
