1997 BMW R1100RT - Extensively Modded for Touring (Central MO)

Unfortunately the time has come to sell my lovely Amarena Red 1997 BMW R1100RT. I’m the second owner. I recently bought it as a replacement for my other bike, but due to some title issues, I can’t legally sell that one. Something has to go and the BMW drew the short straw.

Despite the age and high miles (122,395), the bike is in great shape. It runs and rides fantastic and has been obsessively maintained (I’ve got a binder full of records dating back to the 90s). I wouldn’t hesitate to take off on a cross-country trip tomorrow with it.

The list of modifications and new parts is extensive, but I’ll do my best to list them all.
- Full Öhlins adjustable suspension (rebuilt at 108k)
- Russell Day Long seats with backrest
- CVM Elf touring pegs
- Rox bar risers
- Air Wings
- Throttle lock

- R1150 17” rear wheel conversion
- Newer Michelin Pilot Road 4 tires

Feel free to ask any questions. I’ll do my best to answer them. Clean title in my name. Located in Glasgow, MO. $2500.

I know this thread has been sitting for a while, but I am curious if the VIN on your bike ends in "62899." I've been trying to track down my dad's '97 RT in amarena red, but haven't had any luck yet!
